Paint Correction

What is Paint Correction?

Paint correction is a multi-stage machine polishing process that permanently removes swirl marks, light to moderate scratches, oxidation, water spots and other paint imperfections. The result is a deeper, glossier and clearer finish that looks better than new, and the perfect prep work for a ceramic coating.

Why it matters

Most of the dullness you see on a car's paint isn't dirt. It's micro scratches and swirl marks that scatter light. Correcting them brings back the wet, mirror like reflection your paint had when it left the factory. Done properly, it's the single biggest visual upgrade you can give your vehicle.

How it's done

1

Hand wash exterior of vehicle

Using multiple wash mitts and buckets ensures that we will not add any more swirls to the paint and windows.

2

Decontamination of paint

The paint is decontaminated using a clay bar and fallout remover to remove bonded particles that aren't visible to the eye but will scratch the paint.

3

Paint inspection

Using proper lighting we inspect the paint to identify swirl marks, scratches, oxidation and water spots, then choose the right pad and compound combination.

4

Compounding the paint

Using a DA polisher and cutting compound we level the clear coat to remove heavier scratches and swirls.

5

Polishing the paint

A finer polish refines the finish, removing micro-marring left by the compound and bringing out maximum gloss and clarity.

6

Final details

Paint is wiped down with an IPA solution to reveal the true correction, then sealed with a wax or sealant to protect the freshly corrected finish.

By following these steps in the correct order, we can remove 80 to 90% of all visible scratches and swirl marks, leaving your paint with a level of depth and clarity.
